Developing local leadership in partner countries is where Worldwide Fistula Fund excels, and we are very proud of how much we have accomplished to date. Thanks to your support we have made considerable impact in 5 countries. This Impact Report highlights how far our WFF country leaders, and their NGOs have come, from humble beginnings.
By country, the Impact Report details the growth and development of local leadership and their capacity to treat and empower ever more women as well as educate communities in prevention. We share important highlights for every country. Ethiopia is the site of our accredited medical education programs. The Worldwide Fistula Fund has completed our $550,000 “investment phase” for developing high quality medical training programs to increase healthcare capacity in that country. We are very proud that these programs continue under Ethiopian leadership and WFF now enters a “sustaining phase” of support.
WFF’s partnership model -combining mentorship with general operating funds – showcases partners that continue to alleviate suffering and grow their impact in women’s lives. We encourage and foster new funding relationships for our grantees to reduce their dependence on us. As part of our Strategic Plan, we look forward to identifying and partnering with new local leaders in the coming years.
To maintain services continuously in sub-Saharan Africa, throughout the year we provide grant installment payments to all of our country leaders.To support this strategy, we encourage all supporters to give prior to yearend, if possible, and please consider spreading their gift throughout the year with monthly, recurring gifts.
