I am deeply honored to begin my journey as the new Board Chair of the Worldwide Fistula Fund (WFF). This organization has long held a special place in my heart, and I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this role at such a meaningful time in our history.
WFF’s mission — to restore dignity and health to women affected by obstetric fistula — is both urgent and deeply human. The women we serve are often among the most vulnerable in the world, and yet they possess extraordinary strength and resilience. It is our privilege to walk alongside them, offering the holistic support they need to heal and thrive.
A Vision for Wholeness
As a physical therapist and advocate for women’s health, I have seen firsthand the power of comprehensive, compassionate care. My vision for WFF is rooted in this belief: that healing must address the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.
This means continuing to support life-changing surgeries while also expanding access to physical rehabilitation, mental health services, community reintegration, and economic empowerment. It means listening closely to the women we serve and to our partners on the ground, ensuring that their voices and their needs guide our work.
Looking Ahead with Hope
We are at a moment of opportunity. Around the world, awareness of maternal health is growing, and WFF is uniquely positioned to lead with integrity, innovation, and impact. I am inspired by the dedication of our board, our partners, and our donors — each of you plays a vital role in this mission.
As we look to the future, we are exploring new ways to strengthen our programs, deepen our partnerships, and ensure that every dollar entrusted to us creates lasting change. I am excited about what lies ahead and confident in our ability to grow stronger together.
Join Us
To our supporters: thank you. Your generosity fuels our work and brings hope to women who have waited far too long to be seen, heard, and healed. I invite you to stay connected, share our story, and continue walking with us on this journey.
Together, we can build a world where no woman suffers needlessly from fistula — and where every woman has the chance to live with dignity, health, and joy. I believe, She is us!!
With heartfelt thanks,
Tracy Spitznagle, PT, DPT, WCS
