Habibou Found Hope at ARENA

Habibou developed a fistula while laboring in Bobo-Dioulasso (Bobo), Burkina Faso. She lost her baby. For five long months, she suffered the embarrassment of her leaking fistula while she searched for a cure. She was referred to ARENA in Ouagadougou.

After a thorough examination, Dr. Itengre assured her he had healed many women like her. Habibou received a successful surgery the next day and woke up dry!

She traveled back home to Bobo and soon returned to ARENA with a friend that had also been suffering from fistula. Her friend was healed and they both received social-economic reintegration education and training. ARENA taught them how to start-up and run their own successful businesses, even providing them small seed funds.

Habibou now comes to ARENA frequently, helps educate women on fistula, and shares her story of healing and hope for the future
